Casey Farm’s Spring Seedling Sale goes online

Apr 29, 2020

Historic New England’s Casey Farm in Saunderstown, Rhode Island, will hold its annual Spring Seedling Sale using a new online ordering site and by-appointment pickups. The large variety of Rhode Island Certified Organic vegetable, fruit, and herb seedlings from our greenhouses will be listed for sale beginning May 1.

Customers will be able to order edible plant seedlings in different size pots or flats suitable to transplant for backyard gardening. Pick-up times are by appointment only at Casey Farm on May 7, 8, 9, 14, and 15 between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on the half-hour. Orders will be packed in boxes ready for the customer to drive up, pick up in an outdoor location, and place in their own vehicle for maximum convenience and a contactless transaction.

All staff, in compliance with CDC and state guidelines, will be wearing gloves and cloth masks, practicing social distancing, and other recommended practices. We ask our customers to also wear masks and practice social distancing while picking up an order. No one should plan to stay at the farm longer than the time it will take to pick up the order as all other public activities are temporarily on hold. Although Casey Farm is not able to operate our usual education programs and gatherings at this time, the farmers are making their good gardening and recipe advice available through email and social media.
