Location: Phillips House, Salem, Mass.
Description: The site manager is responsible for the management and marketing of Historic New England’s Phillips House and Gedney House in Salem, Mass and Quincy House in Quincy, Mass. The primary goals of the site manager are to provide the greatest public access to the site through museum initiatives that conform to site preservation standards, and to meet or exceed revenue and attendance goals set by the organization. The site manager is a member of a regional cross-team work group led by a regional site administrator.
In this position, you will:
Qualifications: Requires bachelor’s degree, master’s preferred, in a relevant field, preferably in museum studies, historic preservation, American history, art or cultural history with four years job-related experience and the ability to work independently. Experience with non-profit institutions managing historic site operations, including financial skills is required, along with supervisory experience, problem-solving ability, familiarity with team approach and multi-tasking, and strong communication skills. Requires fully competent computer skills, including word processing and database use, strong verbal and written communication skills, and valid driver’s license and means of transportation. Requires occasional evening and weekend work.
