Classification: Full-time, 40 hours
Location: Lyman Estate, 185 Lyman Street, Waltham, Mass.
Description: We are looking for a friendly and responsible person to join Historic New England’s landscaping staff in this year-round, benefits-eligible position. The groundskeeper is responsible maintaining the grounds at Historic New England’s Lyman Estate to a very high standard of care. This position performs all aspects of lawn, garden, and hardscape care. Secondary responsibilities include minor building maintenance, such as painting and gutter cleaning, care of the grounds at Browne House in Watertown, Mass., and supporting public programs and functions as assigned.
Responsibilities: This position is responsible for the care of gardens, plants, and landscapes at the Lyman Estate.
Qualifications: Applicant should have a high school diploma or GED and suitable job-related experience, knowledge of methods and practices used in landscape and equipment maintenance, the ability to operate effectively both individually and in a team environment, the ability to interact and communicate orally and in writing, and have basic computer skills including the use of email.
This position requires a valid driver’s license. This is a year round non-exempt position with generous benefits including three weeks’ vacation, twelve paid holidays, generous health and wellness benefits, and more.
