Classification: Seasonal/part-time

Location: Castle Tucker and Nickels-Sortwell House, Wiscasset, Maine

Description: Historic New England seeks a seasonal part-time (4-5 days/ week) lead guide to work at Castle Tucker and Nickels-Sortwell House for the 2019 season. The lead guide will conduct tours and assist the site manager with oversight of daily museum operations including tour admissions, museum shop, light museum cleaning, and opening and closing the museum. The lead guide will also manage the guide schedule, assist with group tours and special programs and train new guide staff. Training is provided.

Qualifications: Applicants must be comfortable with point-of-sale technology, should enjoy working with the public, have excellent communication skills, knowledge of American history, and basic computer skills. Must be available weekends, have a flexible schedule, and commit to employment through the end of the 2019 season, June through October. Bachelor’s degree and prior museum, academic or historical organization experience is preferred.
