Description: Historic New England is looking for a dynamic, results-oriented advancement officer with proven experience in major giving to grow our successful fundraising initiatives. This position is responsible for securing donations by identifying and stewarding qualified individual donors, and soliciting gifts of five figures and above to meet established planned giving, major gift, and restricted gift goals, to support Historic New England’s priority projects and initiatives, and endowment growth.
You are an articulate spokesperson for Historic New England who can directly engage and inspire donors. This position will identify, qualify, cultivate, and solicit a portfolio of at least seventy-five prospects and current donors to increase philanthropic support. Develop and implement cultivation and solicitation strategies to secure gifts of five figures and above. Move potential donors in an appropriate and timely fashion toward financial support and long-term commitment by making face-to-face solicitations and involving additional staff and high-level volunteers when needed. Support the solicitation activities of the president, vice president for advancement, board of trustees, and other high-level volunteers. Coach regional site managers and other staff members with fundraising responsibilities and opportunities.
This position may be based at the Otis House in Boston, Mass., Haverhill Facility in Haverhill, Mass., or Lyman Estate in Waltham, Mass. The position requires extensive travel in New England, New York, and some national travel. Weekend and evening work are periodically required.
