Join Historic New England for four days of tours and lectures featuring superb collections and top experts. Explore woodcarvings, paintings, hooked rugs, painted furniture, redware, and the many other objects often referred to as “country arts.” Among the lecturers and presenters are Robert Emlen of Brown University; Richard Nylander, Historic New England curator emeritus; Martha Hamilton and Stephen Fletcher of Skinner, Inc; and author Joan Brownstein.

Warren Little, son of Bertram K. and Nina Fletcher Little, discusses growing up at Cogswell’s Grant in Essex, Massachusetts, and living with one of the most significant collections of American folk art in the nation. Tours include a visit with Mr. Little at Cogswell’s Grant, and a trip to Beauport, Sleeper-McCann House, in Gloucester, Massachusetts, to tour with Jessie Turbayne, an author and internationally recognized authority on hooked rugs. The weekend also includes a visit to J.O.J. Frost Gallery and Decoy Exhibition in Marblehead, Massachusetts, and a road trip to view private collections and enjoy behind the scenes tours.
