Neptune 1 Studios
- Three motifs in the Decor Chinois collection.
Inspired by wallpaper in the Belfry Chamber at Historic New England’s Beauport Sleeper-McCann museum, Gloucester, Massachusetts, the Décor Chinois collection was introduced in 2009. 
In spring of 2011 the next collection will be introduced throughout New England. Based on hand-painted wallpaper in the China Trade Room at Beauport, this collection will feature scenes which trace the importing and processing of rice in the 1700s.
Susan Newberg and Phyllis Tracy formed Neptune 1 Studios to create a unique line of decoupage plates. This collaboration combines Phyllis’s art education and interior design talent with Susan’s photographic and graphic design skills. Detailed images from historic wallpapers are thoughtfully placed on a variety of shapes and sizes of glass plates. Touring historic sites identifying beautiful wallcoverings is the first step in a long labor intensive process. Then Susan and Phyllis go to work sizing, coloring, framing, and presenting each item in its best light. The result is a collection of stunning decoupage plates showcasing designs incorporating rich historical images which fit into today’s modern décor.
