Learn what early American settlement life was like through a series of interactive, hands-on activities set in the seventeenth-century Arnold House. Students immerse themselves in early local history in an authentic setting, experiencing history first hand while exploring the Arnold House. Along the way students meet a variety of characters who help them to role-play real people who lived and worked in the 1690s. Students learn about daily tasks that were commonly performed in the community of Lincoln.
This is a modular program focused on aspects of daily life in the seventeenth-century, including illumination, clothing, bartering, medicine, schooling, games, food preservation and making soap. You may choose the topics that best suit the needs of your group.
