Old House Maintenance Advisor
Get the answers you need. Historic New England offers a service for members at the Household level and up: the Old House Maintenance Advisor. For a fee of $50, the Old House Maintenance Advisor offers personalized responses to technical questions about old house maintenance issues. You'll receive help with questions about:
- energy conservation
- wood, slate, or asphalt roofing installation, care, and maintenance
- window repair and restoration
- flooring treatment, including sanding and/or finishing historic floors
- identification of interior decorative features such as tile, hardware, woodwork, or lighting and locating replacements or replicas
- plaster repair or adhesion
- pest or insect infestation and treatment
