Little dining room

By 1930, the surviving three of the six Little children were being raised on the farm by their paternal aunt, Eliza, after the deaths of their parents from illness or accident. While not wealthy, the four surviving Little family women lived comfortably yet modestly through the twentieth century. Cousins Agnes, Margaret, and Amelia lived with their Aunt Eliza, who encouraged them all to pursue education, employment, and intellectual stimulation. Cousins Agnes and Amelia Little deeded the farm and house to Historic New England in 1971 as part of their estate planning. They continued to live on the farm for another fifteen years after the gift was made.
