1690 manor house

The manor house was built by Colonel Daniel Peirce out of imported brick and locally quarried stone. Recent dendrochronology has placed the construction of the house conclusively at 1690. Nine years later, Daniel Peirce was given the choice of first pew in the Newbury meeting house, a sign of his premiere status in the community.
