Earl

Species: Sheep Breed: Romney Mix Romney sheep are known for their plentiful, but coarse fleece. They are also bred for meat, as they tend to be larger than Merino sheep. Born in 1995 The average lifespan of a healthy sheep is 10-15 years. Though animals have been known to live to 20, their teeth tend to break down after about age 10. Earl loves to graze, though since he is older, he needs more of the concentrated nutrition found in pellet food. Earl is very shy and doesn’t like to eat out of your hand. Earl lived on a farm where he did not have enough food or medical care. He came to us with his mother Erma, who passed away in 2007. He is in good health now, though he has arthritis and his advanced age makes it difficult for him to keep in healthy weight. Note: Earl passed away on May 15, 2010 in the company of his friends.
