Scullery

The home was also built with a scullery, a place for household staff to complete tasks like food preparation, laundry, and washing. This room was outfitted with a unique set-kettle. The copper basin was set into a masonry block, with a complete firebox and ash pit. At the bottom of the kettle is a drain that lets out from a drain in the foundation to the service yard. Ralph and Gladys May, the last to live in the house, added a city water-fed sink and a General Electric refrigerator to the room.
