James and Ralph May's study
The third floor study, used first by James Rundlet May, James Rundlet’s grandson, abounds with the personal items of mostly Rundlet and May men. Harvard and Milton Academy diplomas mix with school photographs, guns, books, and other paraphernalia. James Rundlet May’s love of animals is on display, with family dog collars and figurines of all manner of beast. James' son Ralph also took advantage of the room, adding his own treasures from his youth, photographs from his life, and his many books. James Rundlet himself likely used this room as a servant space. He spent his lifetime looking into the future, whether it be cooking technology, or the latest in manufacturing. His ancestors looked to the past to find themselves, and preserved this family home for future generations to learn from.
