The Rundlets lived on a nearly self-sustaining site. This original plan for the house shows the complex of connected outbuildings that housed two privies, space for agricultural needs and potentially servants, a carriage house, and stables. The expansive grounds detail the orchards, including pear and apple trees, as well as a wide service yard. James Rundlet was careful to outfit his home with the same consideration for detail.
