Kitchen windows
William Rantoul made minor changes to the room, increasing the size of the cabinets for storage and the size of the windows for better light and air circulation. As you can imagine, these windows were much welcomed as the coal stove could make the room quite hot. He also provided for a small gas range next to the coal stove for summer or light cooking.
