Summer porch
From the large reception room, one enters a small back parlor. This room was used by Hamilton as a dining room. Onto this side of the house, the Tysons added a wing which housed a guest bedroom, a bathroom, and a porch. The addition was accessed through the back parlor. A number of objects in this room pay homage to characters of Sarah Orne Jewett’s novel The Tory Lover which was set at Hamilton House.
