Dining room
On the right, one passes into the dining room. The Tysons enlarged this room by removing a side hallway and servant's staircase. No doubt influenced by Edith Wharton's Italian Villas and Their Gardens and inspired by their own recent visit to Italy, the Tysons commissioned artist George Porter Fernald to paint an Italianate landscape mural on all four walls of the dining room.
