At Hamilton House, Emily Tyson and Elise Tyson Vaughan created a romantic idyllic retreat. By preserving physical connections with our nation’s past, the Tysons and other Colonial Revivalists sought to preserve and celebrate patriotic American values and heritage. When she left Hamilton House to Historic New England, Elise Tyson Vaughan insured that this vision of the past would be preserved for future generations to enjoy.
