Ogden Codman, Jr.
In 1897, Ogden Codman Jr. reintroduced Federal-period architectural details and wall color to the drawing room. Codman, Jr. co-authored the book On the Decoration of Houses with his friend Edith Wharton; his philosophy reflected a return to classicism after the excesses of the Victorian era.
