Hamilton House Gardens

Hamilton river wedding

Open June through October

Historic New England invites you to host your wedding in the beautiful Hamilton House Gardens, overlooking Salmon Falls River in South Berwick, Maine.

Hamilton House was built in 1785 by Colonel Jonathan Hamilton, a prominent merchant. The gardens we appreciate so much today were created by Mrs. Emily Tyson, who purchased the property with her stepdaughter Elizabeth in 1898. Encouraged by their friend Sarah Orne Jewett, they restored the house and landscape. The dramatic setting of the house and gardens makes this site a beautiful natural location for an event.

Hamilton House gardens can accommodate ceremonies and receptions for up to 100 guests.

Call now to schedule your visit to Hamilton House Gardens or join us for our next open house! On Saturday July 26th we will be onsite to answer your questions and show off the property. Please join us from 10am to noon or 2pm to 4pm.
