Historic New England presents the 2013 loan exhibit, Windows on the Past: Four Centuries of Historic New England, at the Newport Antiques Show in Rhode Island, July 26 to 28, 2013.

Windows on the Past highlights the artifacts and thirty-six historic sites that make up the museum’s collection and tells the rich stories of New Englanders across the region. The collections are from Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut, and from Historic New England’s extensive library and archives and artifacts collections.

The collections featured in Windows on the Past have connections from across New England. Items include a delicate French marble and ormolu mantel clock from Barrett House in New Ipswich, New Hampshire; unusual silhouettes and ceramics from Beauport, Sleeper-McCann House, in Gloucester, Massachusetts; and vivid glassware from Hamilton House in South Berwick, Maine. Furniture, paintings, ceramics, jewelry, photographs and architectural drawings will also be featured.
