Wallpaper
| Historic New England's extensive wallpaper collection contains individual samples of wallpaper, historic photographs of wallpaper in situ, and ephemera dealing with the wallpaper industry. The wallpapers range from pristine examples with complete repeats to small fragments that are part of a sequence in a particular room. The browse categories listed below allow users to easily access the collection by date of manufacture. Information on items related to pattern, manufacturer, or place can be undertaken through the expanded search. Users familiar with the original online wallpaper database will see that the search format has changed as part of the collection access project. The new database allows users to access objects in the artifact and library and archive collections as well as the wallpaper collection. The merger of these data sources has been an enormous project and as such is bound to have some errors and inconsistencies.
