"Alvina" - steam yacht built in 1901 by Charles Fletcher (1840-1907) of Providence and Jamestown, R.I. Grandfather of Nina Fletcher ( Harlan and Hollingsworth, Wilmington, Delaware, builders). It was sold after a year and a half because it was too large for Narragansett Bay (R.I.) Flying Charles Fletcher's own checkered private signal. (see p. 43, Lloyds Register of Shippimg 1916.)
