Jonathan Sayward Barrell (1772-1857)

Description

This subseries includes correspondence, financial records (cashbook, receipt book, letters received, notes payable), legal papers (appointments, deeds, oath, and his sister Hannah's will), and printed material. Jonathan Sayward Barrell (b. 1772) was the seventh child of Sarah and Nathaniel Barrell. He married Mary Plummer in 1795. They had eight children: Nathaniel, Jonathan Sayward, Elizabeth, George, Mary, Oliver Keating, Joseph, and Octavius. Mary Plummer Barrell died in 1814. Jonathan remarried in 1816 to Anna (also known as Nancy) Plummer. He died in 1857.
