Description

A black and white view of a Coast Guard officer as he watches a collier sink on the Cape Cod Canal. The collier had rammed into the bank of the Canal and the Coast Guard arrived to evacuate the vessel and clear a path for navigation. The image shows a young Coast Guard officer in uniform watching the ship sink deeper into the water.
