Series XVII, Melissa (Withington) Pierce (1809-1887) papers, 1820-1822 (#2.1), contains two "award of merit" certificates with illustrations mounted on a piece of cardboard. The two school certificates were presented to Melissa Withington for diligence, good behavior, and attention to her studies, by her teacher, William Popkin.
