Description

Design drawing titled "Painted Commode" rendered in pencil on trace. Front and top views are shown. Neoclassical-style oval night table has overhanging top with molded edge; cabinet with right-hinged door and one round pull; one lower shelf with molded edge; four tapered square legs; and carved and turned tapered feet. Cabinet door has painted, inlaid or carved rectangle with four corner rosettes; legs have painted, inlaid or carved spiral twist design. Title, dimensions, "11550" and "For C. Vanderbilt 21314" are handwritten on drawing. Also handwritten is "J. B. W. Mar. 19 - 1907."
