"Toilet Table Mhg. & Inlay"

Description

Design drawing titled "Toilet Table Mhg. & Inlay" rendered in pencil on trace. Front view of dressing table and attached mirror is shown; partial side view is also present. Neoclassical-style toilet or dressing table has rectangular form; overhanging top with molded edge; two drawers on each side of shallow central drawer; inlaid diamond enclosing a quatrefoil on center drawer front; inlaid bellflowers on stiles; curved legs with carved rosette at top and volute at bottom above carved square blocks; and lower open shelf connecting to blocks above bun feet. Top has small recessed drawer at each end with sloping fronts. Rectangular mirror has demilune crest and is supported by two square columnar arms with urn finials which attach to recessed drawers. Title, design notes, "11916" and "Hackstaff 33661 N.Y. 10219" are handwritten on drawing.
