Description

Design drawing titled "Bureau and Glass" rendered in pencil on trace. Front view of bureau or dresser and wall mirror is shown; plan of top is also provided. Neoclassical-style rectangular dresser has overhanging top with molded edge and ovolo front corners; shallow backboard; two drawers with carved molding on front edges in one tier atop three larger drawers; bail handles on all drawers; rectangular panel between two top drawers with inlaid kylix and corner quater fans; straight skirt; columnar reeded stiles; and tapered cylindrical feet. Oval wall mirror frame is gilded and has carved urn finial and foliate scrolls on top and carved bellflower drop with foliate scrolls at bottom. Title and design notes are handwritten on drawing.
