"Bureau and Glass"

Description

Design drawing titled "Bureau and Glass" rendered in ink on trace. Perspective view is shown. Rectangular bureau or dresser has notched serpentine front with canted corners; overhanging top with molded edge; apron with carved front panel; two drawers with bail handles, bat wing plates and key escutcheons; and fluted columnar front stiles with carved acanthus leaves at bottom; apron with molded edges and carved foliate scrolls and shells at center; and short tapered fluted legs with cuffs and tapered feet. Rectangular mirror has narrow carved frame; gently curved top with concave corners; and is attached to dresser by two tapered fluted columns with pineapple finials. Title is handwritten on drawing. Stamped in lower right corner but partially cut off is "To be returned to / A. H. Davenport, / 96 Washington St. / Boston, Mass."
