Description

Design drawing titled "Carved Arm Chair of Dark Oak" rendered in ink on trace. Front view is shown. Arm chair has tall back with notched arched crest; curved wings; upholstered back and wings with fringe trim at base of back; carved arms with oversized scrolled paw handholds; turned arm supports with fluting and carved acanthus leaves; deep upholstered seat with fringe trim at base and single row of metal tacks outlining bottom edge and rectangular corner blocks; elaborately carved seat rail; square rear legs; cabriole front legs with gilded foliate and scroll carving; bun feet; X-stretcher with carved scrolls and urn ornament at center. Title and one design note are handwritten on drawing.
