Description

Design drawing titled "Dining Chairs of Mahogany" rendered in pencil on trace. Perspective view is shown. Neoclassical-style side chair has molded shield-shaped back with five ribs rising from base to top; inlaid or painted decoration on back including foliate spray on top plaque and pattern on base; molded stiles; upholstered seat with serpentine front and a single row of metal tacks along lower edge; seat rail with molded bottom edge; raked rectangular rear legs; and tapered square legs in front. Title, design notes, "for C. F. Cushman" and "May 22 1906 K" are handwritten on drawing.
