Tan linen (cotton) ankle boots (A & B); blue silk and braid trim around ankle, and scalloped edge of button closure; 2 blue tassels at ankle; 2-toned blue bow at toe; 7 covered buttons; brown leather sole; brown stacked heel with notch on inside; navy blue topstitching; white linen lining; white kid inner sole.

Walk Right in 11/98-3/99 Beginning around 1850, rising hem lines drew attention to the foot and called for more elaborate ornamentation. This boot was worn by Sarah Fletcher Bradlee Codman of Boston shortly before her marriage in 1861.
