Description

Round ash splint basket [a] with balloon waist, single ash-wrapped handle and cover [b]. Made from ash splints woven in a wicker-weave pattern. Indigo weft bands decorate the mid shoulder and lower sections of the body and the cover. The round base exhibits a deep interior "kick." The basket rim is a splint exterior and carved wood interior held in place with a single lash of ash splint.
