Portrait of a young man in a dark suit and red tie, white pocket handkerchief. Seated in a red upholstered chair with large brass tacks and ornate gilt finials. His right arm is draped next to a red vase on a round side table with arched side panels. His left hand is tucked into his jacket pocket, his right hand holds an open book. Dark paneling and spines of leather bound books in backround.
