Inscriptions
Interpretation by students from the Harvard's Graduate School of Design 2/7/98: The scroll tells about a traditional Chinese instrument, narrow in shape which is covered in fabric, perhaps silk. ""Harmony, like the 50 strings of this musical instrument playing in tune."" Where strings could signify years, this scroll could be an acknowledgment of a 50th birthday, but more likely, a 50th anniversary.
