Black and gold lacquered sewing table; the rectangular hinged top has serpentine-shaped edges and a raised decorative panel; the corresponding base contains multiple fitted compartments for sewing tools. Two lyre-shaped legs, with a central fleur-de-lis finial and shaped bracket feet terminate in carved animal paw feet with pronounced knuckles. The entire piece is covered with oriental scenes and a diaper pattern. The remains of red silk bag with fringe are attached to a slide under the case. Reproduction sewing bag.
