Description

Wrapper. Brown and blue silk plaid taffeta with floral sprays; aubergine silk (solid panel) extends from neck to hem at front, and around hem, shoulder and cuffs; long sleeves; piping at high neck, armsceye, waist and hip yoke; pleats all around waist; large round self covered buttons arranged in pairs with loop closure along center front; loops continue to thigh, then the dress is stitched closed to hem; hip yoke; princess seam; inner bodice has hook and eye closure, is boned, and is tan cotton twill; fully lined with brown cambric; hem bound with brown wool tape, pocket on right side seam. Visible drawstring inside waist, used to gather silk evenly, not for garment closure.
