Charlestown Quilt

Description

T-shaped; central pieced block of block-printed and painted Chinese arched bridge; swans; floral collage. Border repeating pattern of Chinese boats and musicians under palm tree. Body alternating rows of white cotton panels of corded and stuffed floral sprig and vine with running balls border; panels of printed borders same as border of central panel (white or brown ground). Edges netted fringe and tassels; cords with tassels at corners of cutouts.
