Description

Domed and hinged lidded rectangular box covered with tooled and gilt tan-colored leather; top has squared iron carrying bale at center; lid is tooled with central diamond with each quadrant enclosing a crown above "GR"; top, corners and front panel with pattern of diamonds formed by acorns with oak leaves; front panel and lid with vine pattern border; front panel of carcass with iron lock at center; ends and back are tooled with intersecting diagonals forming diamonds; interior lined with printed paper which appears to have come from a dictionary.
