An ash splint "fancy basket" with plain, checkerweave lid and wrapped, crossed hoop handles attached at the center of the body rather than the ends. The basket body is embellished with a fancy curlicue "wart" weave over most of its surface. The rim has an elaborate lace edge that stands nearly an inch vertically.
