One of many views related to the early United States and its history that appear in the online exhibit "Patriotic America."The arms adopted in 1809 were the basis for this design though it is not a strictly accurate copy. The Hudson River is shown on a shield, flanked by Liberty and Justice, as the sun sets behind the Hudson Highlands.
