Description

A blue transfer print pearlware plate with a scalloped edge. The central scene depicts the Pilgrims landing at Plymouth which is surrounded by a border of ship medallions, eagles, and scrollwork.

Label
One of many views related to the early United States and its history that appear in the online exhibit "Patriotic America." Several scenes quite similar to this one appear throughout New England, most produced on or near 1820, the 200th anniversary of the landing.
