Description

Design drawing titled "Copy of an Old Italian Chair" rendered in pencil on trace. Front and side views are shown. Side chair has back splat in form of tall classical urn with wide lip, tall narrow neck, and fluted bulbous body on a stepped plinth; Greek key band across widest portion of urn's body; shaped molded stiles flanking urn and forming a rough rectangle with concave sides; flat seat with fluted narrrow seat rails and rosette-carved corner blocks; and tapered square legs with ovoid feet. Title, design notes and "11771" are handwritten on drawing. See CC011.001.001.004.002.011 for a watercolor rendering depicting same design.
