Description

Untitled design drawing rendered in ink on trace. Perspective view is shown. William and Mary-style side chair has back which cants backward; carved scrolled crest rail; rectangular caned back panel with gently curved bottom rail; stiles with block, ring, ovoid and vasiform turnings and ball finials; rush seat within wood frame; tapered square rear legs; front legs with block, ring, and cup turnings; and plain H-stretcher. Faintly visible stamp in lower right corner reads: "To be Returned to / A. H. Davenport / 96-98 Washington St. / Boston / Designed by / Francis H. Bacon."
