Description

Red-painted maple Queen Anne/Chippendale drop-front desk; slant drop-front hinged above with four graduated drawers on molded base; four cabriole legs and square feet; inside is fitted with a row of 10 pigeon holes with scalloped tops and 5 drawers; original red finish to the outside found below a layer of later red paint; original brass bail handles on bat-wing plates; pine backboard.

On a jelly label inside the left of the inside top drawer: ""This desk came from New/Hampshire, and has its first/coat of red paint, Later handles/had been put on, but most of/the original ones were found/on a drawer and replaced.""

I think I have this desk in minuture. the measurments are: 18 high---16 width and 9 in depth. There is no mark on it but it has a number 239 and I think it is cherry. It is in wonderful condition. What do you think?
