Long rectangular format, horizontal landscape with white farmhouse sitting against a blue sky at the top of a hill; a red house sits, several red and unpainted sheds and small barns sit to the left; at the far left a man rides a white horse; at left center, four men scythe hay in a field in front of the farmhouse; in foreground, men rake and load haycocks onto a wagon with a pair of oxen.
