Series VI, John Lambert Coffin (born 1852), 1878-1929, undated (#C.1.27-C.1.32), contains anniversary material; clippings; correspondence; invitations; notes; a notebook; poems; printed material; program bulletins; and an official resolution from St. John's Lodge in Newburyport, Massachusetts. The anniversary material contains items relating to the 25th wedding anniversary of John Lambert Coffin (born 1852) and Annie Weeman (Jones) Coffin (dates unknown) and includes anniversary cards and letters; a clipping referring to the celebration party; a notebook detailing gifts received by family, friends, and guests; and a poem written by Coffin. The clippings cover Coffin's speaking engagements and professional work as a medical doctor and also include clippings relating to the trial of abolitionist John Brown (1800-1859); an 1878 poem penned by Coffin while in Winchester, Massachusetts, is written on the backside of the paper containing the John Brown clippings (see #C.2.47 for related material regarding the trial of John Brown). The correspondence primarily comprise professional letters relating to Coffin's career and also include correspondence from St. John's Lodge in Newburyport, Massachusetts. The Lodge correspondence refer to Coffin's donation of ancestral membership diplomas from the Lodge and include a Lodge resolution accepting the donation and welcoming Coffin into the organization. Also included in the series are a few hand-written notes; invitations; program bulletins from Coffin's speaking engagements; a 1917 article on the milk industry in the United States; and a brochure from the Hotel New Yorker in New York City, New York. The series is arranged alphabetically by record type.
