Description

Photo album titled: "Figures 15." Title is hand printed on a round paper label affixed to spine; volume number is also printed on a paper label affixed to spine. Album has a heavy textured dark brown covering and is held together with two metal brads. Album has 78 olive green pages; 17 of the pages are blank. Album contains 61 mounted black-and-white photographs.Photographs are of a variety of carvings manufactured by A. H. Davenport Co, Irving and Casson and their successor, Irving and Casson - A. H. Davenport Co. The order number and year are sometimes shown in the photographs. Carvings are primarily of angels and other Biblical figures. Customer names are handwritten on several album pages. Named customers are: Christ Church (Mahasset, NY); St. Patrick's Cathedral (New York, NY); St. Vincent Ferrer (New York, NY); and Zion Memorial Chapel (New Hamburg, NY). Also included in the album are two loose Irving & Casson - A. H. Davenport Co. catalog pages for lectern models M15108 and M15109 which incorporate carvings shown in a photograph on page 77 of album.
